As we didn’t get to run this route last week, hem hem, our working assumption is that we’ll simply run it this Easter weekend and take in the glory of the bluebells around Spithandle Lane….assuming Brian Turrell can navigate the final bit! C11 miles and lovely with it.

Joggers on Snow
As some of you will know 6 of us recently exported ourselves (courtesy of Mandy Skilton! We know where the power lies) to the Pyrenees to test our running legs out on the white stuff. The stories stay with us, but we did a lot of drugs (Ibuprofen, Ibuprofen Gel, Ibuprofen Extra Strength, Nurofen…..) and a full range of slope colours too across 3 full days of skiing and boarding. A selection of the photo’s can now be seen, if you dare!
Brians Barbados Booz………..Running!
I ran with the Barbados Hash during my visit in 2012 and hence am included in their mailing list, have recently received this flyer and I thought it would be rude not to accept. So here I am in my favourite holiday destination looking forward to tomorrow’s AGPU run and 5 more Hashes during the next week while cruising the Caribbean
Update: Five hashes completed and just one to go before flying back on Monday, have loads of photo’s but selected a few that might be of interest

April Handicap Results
Well, they’re in, and the rule ‘snooze you lose’ was never so true as the leader so far this year Andy Ralph missed this one, and the leaderboard all changed! Congratulations Emma Smith for picking up the leaders armband and showing the way forward. You can find the full results here.
Saturday Morning 5th April
Its the Brighton Marathon on Sunday so coursemeister Hugh is noticeable by his absence, but never fear – Brian T has been nominated to head over towards Ashurst and go in search of early bluebells – yes they are there, very early ones at least, but may be elusive! This is c10miles, depending on how closely everyone sticks to the plan. I’ll be decamping to Wales and will be somewhere near Pontypridd (bet it rains!) but have fun everyone!

Hangover 5 ‘Revisited’ Results
Well done to the three Joggers who completed this event, moved from January
1st due to truly awful weather! Brian came in ahead but many congratulations to Katie and Millie on completing their first Fun Run, and one of the tougher events to boot! Hope everyone enjoyed it.
Brian Griffiths 51:08
Katie Bremner 54:03
Millie Webb 59:05
Me and Millie both really enjoyed it! Although
the hills were really tough which meant my calves were killing (also due to the fact I kept slipping from side to side as I didn’t have proper trainers!) it was great. Really good but of course hard run! Definitely see why you rank it a 3 (or whatever the toughest one is) in you’re Paul rank scale! Hopefully we’ll do it next year and I’ll get a better time
– (I’m quite competitive!)

March Handicap Results
…….and they’re in! And it remains Andy Ralph, Emma Smith and Liz Pamment in the Top 3 slots for the third month running! Its a marathon not a sprint, but its consistent performance so far! See all the results here.
Foxtrot 5 & Cranleigh15/21 Review
On a fabulous day of blue skies and strong sunshine we Joggers seemed to be everywhere. The Foxtrot 5 mile ‘Fun Run’ down at Shoreham led us along the banks of the Adur, beneath Tiger Moths labouring into the air above our heads from Shoreham Airport. Despite some unavoidable last minute dropouts and Lesleys sad pullout during the race due to injury, we were still comfortably greater in numbers than at any time lately. And that counted, as we finished in 15th place, not last for a change, above Arena 80, Worthing and Southwick. Hey, its a big improvement, don’t knock it!
Results:
Michele Longmore 38:12
Brian Turrell 40:08
Rob Thornton 40:14

Nikki Hargrave 51:18
Louise Muller 52:32
Brian Bracey 57:53
Thanks to everyone for a great morning!

Cranleigh 15/21
Really lovely day, but a rubbish run at Cranleigh. I was just not up for it and never got into the zone. Back started hurting after a few miles and I thought about pulling out at 9 miles, but 4 Neurofen helped me struggle round 15 – no desire to do another 6! Need to get my back sorted before the marathon. Finished just ahead of Jackie who had a cold. Ilidia, on the other hand, was going like a train and just beat 3 hours for the 21.

Saturday Morning 15th March
Well the trails are really drying very well, still giving underfoot but not totally squishy and ankle deep any longer. Hugh, course-meister, is not around Saturday as he is ‘saving himself’ for the Cranleigh 20 on Sunday, therefore I’ve taken the liberty of selecting a route from the archive. Its a variation on Brians favourite route, which always features Ashurst and of course can be varied according to taste. 10 miles seemed the distance that everyone favoured, so thats exactly what this is. I’ll be in Emsworth so not around, but have fun – its a frolic in the sun!
