Anastasia (my Swiss student who has run with us recently) leaves on Saturday morning, so I will be doing only a short run of less than 9 miles – see the route below. There are various options to extend it, including round the Monastery, for anyone who wants a longer run.

Saturday Morning 26th August
This Saturday morning will be different from usual, as there are 2 activities on offer – a return bike ride to Shoreham, Brighton, and possibly beyond with a breakfast stop at the mid-point, or a 15 mile run up to Southwater Country Park and back, with shorter alternatives to Copsale or West Grinstead. Neither option involves any hills and both are mainly along the Downs Link. The choice is yours. However both options start at the Leisure Centre at 8am as usual!
Henfield Half Marathon Results 2017
A beautiful sunny day for this year’s Henfield Half Marathon. Perhaps a little warm for the runners, but lovely for the marshals and everyone watching on.
Andy took over laptop duties to produce the results. Any errors are likely due to being stuck away in a windowless office while everyone else was catching some rays.

Well done to all of those who took part, and thanks to those that helped support this event for Simon at the Henfield Leisure Centre.
Summer Social BBQ – Saturday 5th August – Marks Mystery Tour and Guides
Hello to everyone coming to the summer social on Saturday. Mark has produced this guide:MYSTERY TOUR TO WHITE HORSE which has a variety of cycling walking and running routes, directions to follow a ‘mystery’ route, and approximate times, all of which end, of course, at the White Horse in Maplehurst. There are two related maps below depending on whether you are walking/running or cycling. Mark said he will be at the Leisure Centre at 8am on Saturday if anyone wants any more directions, and will be running there later if anyone wants to join in with him?
Seven Stiles 30th July
Congratulations to all those who took part in the annual Seven Stiles run on Sunday. We had an absolute record number of runners with over 600 people entering across the two events, more than 20% more than we have ever seen before. In turn that meant that we were quite challenged in terms of facilities so we apologise for any inconvenience (hem hem!) experienced by anyone in the queues to the facilities. We will be reviewing all aspects of the event with a view to improving this for 2018.
However it was a tremendous day, and thanks to Barry Cornelius you can view a range of runners photographs on his website here.
The provisional results can be found on the West Sussex Fun Run League website here.
If anyone has any feedback on the Results then please email us at: enquiries@henfieldjoggers.co.uk
And last, but by NO means least! Thank you to ALL the Henfield Joggers, family and friends, who helped out on Sunday, and of course to Simon and his team at Henfield Leisure Centre without whom, quite simply, it would not be possible to hold this event!

Max’s Memorial Run
As many of us know, Hughs beloved dog and honourable canine member of the Joggers, passed away this week. Hugh wants to scatter his ashes on his beloved Downs and invites as many Joggers as can be there to join him on his last adventure. I’ve created an Event for the morning of 8th July – you can find the details here.
Meet at HLC at 8am, as usual, then head up to the Steyning Bostal, starting the run about 8.30am. There will be a choice of distances of 6,7 and 10 miles [not shown] and Max’s ashes will be scattered at an appropriate place.
Latest Handicap Results
The June Handicap results are now available as we head into the summer recess. You can find the June and Cumulative results here.
And June was a bumper month with many from the recent and highly successful ‘Start Running’ course taking part. along with some new people exploring what Henfield Joggers have to offer!
Remember that we now take a pause for July and August as we enter the summer period, and return for the Autumn season in September! Can’t believe I even mentioned the ‘A’ word so early in the year!!! At least it wasn’t the dreaded ‘W’ word though!!!
