Seven Stiles – 29 July 2018

Congratulations to all those who took part in the annual Seven Stiles Fun Run today.

With construction work on site and biblical downpours throughout the morning, there were more than a few challenges in getting the race organised and run but just about 400 people took part across the two races

The provisional results can be found on the West Sussex Fun Run League website here.

If anyone has any feedback on the Results then please email us at: sevenstiles@henfieldjoggers.co.uk

And last, but by NO means least! Thank you to ALL the Henfield Joggers, family and friends, who helped out today, and of course to Simon and his team at Henfield Leisure Centre without whom, quite simply, it would not be possible to hold this event!

Saturday Morning 28th July

I suggest we do this flat 10.5 mile route on Saturday morning – when it’s forecast to be slightly cooler! It incorporates part of the 7 Stiles course, so a final check can be made that it’s ok. Partridge Green residents will note it passes through their vilage if they are inclined to join us. The terrain should not prevent its being continuous, although there are also plenty of opportunities for runbacks.

Saturday Morning 21st July

This is tomorrow morning’s suggested route of about 12 miles. It’s mainly flat, apart from the short sharp hill beside the caravan park at Golding Barn. It should also be continuous, except possibly up the said hill where some walking may be in order. The pace will be democratically determined – anyone wanting to run faster will simply have to wait or run back at regular intervals.

Saturday Morning 14th July

The weather is a tad cooler, so I suggest we do a slightly longer run on Saturday morning at the usual gentle pace. This route is just over 12.5 miles, flat and includes part of the unique Spithandle Lane we all know and love! The shortcut from Buckells Farm takes off about 1.5 miles and the one through Lock Farm and Claylands Farm about 5.5 miles.

Wednesday 11th July – Pub Run CANCELLED

Due to the World Cup Semi Final match where England will play Croatia, kicking off at 7pm, the proposed Shepherd and Dog Pub Run is shelved for this week. The visit to the Shepherd and Dog will still take place but on 22nd August now.

There will be a usual Wednesday run from HLC led by Eb for those non-footballing runners! Meet at 7pm as usual.

Saturday Morning 7th July

Few people seem keen on particularly long runs at present – it must be the weather! This is the suggested route for Saturday morning, which is only 10 miles with a shortcut that reduces it to about 8. It’s also flat and shouldn’t be overgrown.

Saturday Morning 30th June

The quest has now changed from avoiding mud that can only be walked through to finding paths not so overgrown that they are just as difficult, if not impossible, to run along! However I think this version of the Monastery Run should fit the bill for Saturday morning – it’s about 11 miles and flat – I assume the 3 Peakers, at least, have had enough climbing for a while!

Saturday Morning 9th June

I suggest we do the Convent run on Saturday. This version is about 12 miles and we should keep our feet dry for a change!
