Wanted! Have you seen this man?

Have you seen this man? This image was taken from CCTV. Last seen tearing around Henfield Business Park with a load of wheelbarrows, shouting a lot. Known to wave arms around. Has been known to wear ‘bunny girl’ outfit, his disguises know no bounds. Do not approach if you see him, just be afraid, be very afraid!
Saturday 13th July
You never know who is going to turn up, Amanda deserted us for Ralphs embrace – its the Ibuprofen she craves really – but in came Ilidia, Jacqui and Terry B making a welcome return. Even Hugh was back after his summer break and ‘hurty leg’ syndrome. The rest of us call this old age! Plus we had a ‘new’ Marcus checking us out, probly not a good idea to start with a Saturday morning excursion (mind you Sue is still on holiday so the tone was, well, above board. Will Marcus return, he threatens to and got on very with Richard, who gave him a run down of his top 200 marathons!
So off to Albourne and back via the Bull, in 25c heat…it was very warm, very warm indeed! Richard wore his bumpack, I’m not quite sure about a man who reaches into his backside and pulls out a bottle of water – and even less sure when he offers it around!
Round about 13 miles in total – you have to enjoy days and weather like this!

Bewl 15 Results
Hi Joggers
I took some friends to run Bewl 15 on Sunday & found Mick Dee there. It really surprised me how much the heat affected it. There is shade for such a good part of it, in and out of the trees. I found it really hard work & judging by his time I am sure that Mick did too.

Here are our two results:
2:25:53 Dave ENGLISH
3:19:26 Dee MICHAEL
A fabulous event, nonetheless. Always a great achievement for all finishers.
Dave English
Saturday 6th July Reality
Just a select band of Paul, Amanda, Brian, Terry, David and Richard this morning, so our usual ‘go this way’ direction was missing. were we rudderless? Oh no, we had Brian, fresh from driving all night, no sleep since Friday morning, setting a heck of a pace and proving that burning your candle at both ends is healthy! So we ignored all suggestions and set off to enjoy the sunshine, views across to the South and North Downs, history lessons along the way, and some interesting farms to cross. Geothermal energy and “that was Rob Thornton, are you SURE that was Rob Thornton” type conversations were the order of the day under brilliant sunshine and 24c heat. Warm for running. See everyone at garys for some liquid replenishment later. This is the route, for posterity:

Saturday 6th July
Hugh’s suggested route for this Saturday, though he claims he may ‘run slowly’ and even ‘cut it short’ due to tired legs from………..walking! I have great difficulty in believing this unless I see it!!! Should be a beautiful morning, and will set you up to undo the good work at Gary’s BBQ later…..be there or be square.

Roundhill Romp Results
Thanks to everyone who turned out in Steyning on Wednesday, and commiserations to those who had to miss out for whatever reason because it was a fantastic evening of great running under blue skies, fabulous views from the Roundhill and great company, both at the finish with Lesley and Nikki cheering everyone on, and later at the Fountain where all groups met up over a few drinks, sitting outside on the decking in a perfect summers evening setting. Lets do it again eh? Highdown Hike is next month!
The results:
Andy Massingale – 35:32 (8th overall and just 2 minutes behind 1st)
Bob Wallace – 49:47
Rob Thornton – 50:21
Paul Crowe – 54:28
Rachel Larking – 55:22
Natasha Heasman – 56:06
Amanda Player – 56:06
Joyce Blundell – 58:30
Kay Dempster – 1:01:00
Debbie Locke – 1:01:01
Mick Dee – 1:02:06
Details for Wednesday July 3rd
Just to be clear about what is happening this Wednesday, we have multiple groups of people setting off on runs, walks and races! See Events for more details.
However the meeting point for everyone wishing to socialise afterwards is The Fountain at Ashurst. We have the Skittle Alley reserved for us all so head there (after you’ve got your drink of course!).
Food is served until 9.30pm so there should be time to get a bite after the Roundhill Romp.

Saturday 29th June
OK. Hugh is still on holiday and without him I don’t have access to those lovely maps that he does. So this is a little behind the times, as we ‘made this up’ as we went, and its therefore where we went, rather than where we’re going!
Graced by Marcus recovering from injury, we set off towards Albourne led by Mark who wanted to ‘try some paths I’ve not gone down before’. Interestingly it appeared that noone else had gone down them either, and we went through jungle-like conditions with Mark using a big stick to hack a path through undergrowth. Sadly Brian T learned just too late that a ‘Mark sized hole’ in the dense foliage didn’t quite reach his shoulders, so a lot of ducking was in order. Marcus was heard to say ‘I’ve really missed this’ shortly before repeatedly saying ‘I’m a city boy really’ and ‘ow ow ow ow ow’. Nettles you see. Quite a few today. Ah well!
Sue regaled us with her own mothers version of ‘The Mighty Quinn’ with an interesting play on words. We know where she gets it from now. I can’t look at any dog recently without thinking of Gods own son. Confused?, don’t worry, its worse than you think!
Along the way we saw lots more deer [well, we did run through the deer sanctuary!] and on Glastonbury weekend stumbled upon Albournes own festival, Bed Fest! Seriously, its true! Tents (3), camper vans (1) guitars (1), sleepy musicians (1). It was going to be a riot. Sadly we couldn’t stay as Mark needed to get home as he needed a small prick in his mouth (at the dentist, stop thinking naughty thoughts) before he had a tooth out. Lets hope its not his wisdom tooth eh!
Hugh is back next week so normal mapping service should be resumed
Turned out to be about 9 miles – I tracked it as below:
- 29th June – wot we did run
