Henfield Fayre – Green Barrows

What can we say but thank you, well done and congratulations from all of us to Fayre7those who took part in the Henfield Fayre yesterday. Despite a difficult run up to this event Trevor did a fabulous job of organising everything, from the materials (wheelbarrows), the choreography, the rehearsals, putting the team together, and of course commentating on the day! And with Gill, Liz, Michele and Cathy manning the HJ Stand, we had a high profile event. Sadly I was away so can’t report ‘first hand’ but the messages I’ve received show we had a great day, and a fair number of membership enquiries to boot!

A big congratulations and WELCOME to our latest member, Katie Bremner, who won the prize of a free membership in the raffle – we look forward to seeing you along on a Wednesday soon Katie!

The photos I’ve seen so far are on the website here, but if anyone else has some please send them to me and I’ll pop them on there too!

Wanted! Have you seen this man?

Have you seen this man? This image was taken from CCTV. Last seen tearing around Henfield Business Park with a load of wheelbarrows, shouting a lot. Known to wave arms around. Has been known to wear ‘bunny girl’ outfit, his disguises know no bounds.  Do not approach if you see him, just be afraid, be very afraid!

Saturday 13th July

You never know who is going to turn up, Amanda deserted us for Ralphs embrace – its the Ibuprofen she craves really – but in  came Ilidia, Jacqui and Terry B making a welcome return. Even Hugh was back after his summer break and ‘hurty leg’ syndrome. The rest of us call this old age! Plus we had a ‘new’ Marcus checking us out, probly not a good idea to start with a Saturday morning excursion (mind you Sue is still on holiday so the tone was, well, above board. Will Marcus return, he threatens to and got on very with Richard, who gave him a run down of his top 200 marathons!

So off to Albourne and back via the Bull, in 25c heat…it was very warm, very warm indeed! Richard wore his bumpack, I’m not quite sure about a man who reaches into his backside and pulls out a bottle of water – and even less sure when he offers it around!

Round about 13 miles in total – you have to enjoy days and weather like this!

Bewl 15 Results

Hi Joggers

I took some friends to run Bewl 15 on Sunday & found Mick Dee there. It really surprised me how much the heat affected it. There is shade for such a good part of it, in and out of the trees. I found it really hard work & judging by his time I am sure that Mick did too.

A fabulous event, nonetheless. Always a great achievement for all finishers.

Saturday 6th July Reality

Just a select band of Paul, Amanda, Brian, Terry, David and Richard this morning, so our usual ‘go this way’ direction was missing. were we rudderless? Oh no, we had Brian, fresh from driving all night, no sleep since Friday morning, setting a heck of a pace and proving that burning your candle at both ends is healthy! So we ignored all suggestions and set off to enjoy the sunshine, views across to the South and North Downs, history lessons along the way, and some interesting farms to cross. Geothermal energy and “that was Rob Thornton, are you SURE that was Rob Thornton” type conversations were the order of the day under brilliant sunshine and 24c heat. Warm for running. See everyone at garys for some liquid replenishment later. This is the route, for posterity:

Saturday 6th July

Hugh’s suggested route for this Saturday, though he claims he may ‘run slowly’ and even ‘cut it short’ due to tired legs from………..walking! I have great difficulty in believing this unless I see it!!! Should be a beautiful morning, and will set you up to undo the good work at Gary’s BBQ later…..be there or be square.

Details for Wednesday July 3rd

Just to be clear about what is happening this Wednesday, we have multiple groups of people setting off on runs, walks and races! See Events for more details.

However the meeting point for everyone wishing to socialise afterwards is The Fountain at Ashurst. We have the Skittle Alley reserved for us all so head there (after you’ve got your drink of course!).

Food is served until 9.30pm so there should be time to get a bite after the Roundhill Romp.
