Summer Social Review
Gill sent us this report from last night, more comments would be lovely!
Well our late Summer Social felt temperature wise more like it should have been Bonfire Night! Undeterred and with the usual HJs stamina, approx 40 of us braved the 11C from 6:30pm to Midnight!
Tequila Punch got the eve off to a good start and the Chilli, rice, Veggie Fajita and wraps seemed very well received.
Big thanks to Sue and Brian Spiers for opening up their home and lovely garden for us and their had work in preparing that. Thanks too to Mark for his beer tent (as well as organising Seven Stiles) and Harriet, Philip and Sarah for their help during the eve.
For the 2013 Social Secs, this was our first HJs summer social so we had nothing to compare it with, but from the many lovely comments received we gather attendance was very good and that all seemed to enjoy. Phew!!
The weather may have been chilly, but the welcome was warm. Excellent food – far more than we could eat, more than enough drink and the usual convivial company.
Many thanks to Sue and Brian for hosting the event and to the social committee for organising it and providing such lovely food and drink.
Hugh
Many thanks Hugh and to the other kind folk, who have emailed Liz and I with their appreciation of Saturday night. Glad so many enjoyed.
