Sussex Grand Prix Races in June

This is a summary of the Grand Prix races during June that I’d urge you to consider!

The first SGP race in June is the Worthing 10K on the 7th, a fast, flat coastal run, starting and finishing on Worthing promenade.

This is followed by the Heathfield 10K on 21st June, the route takes in scenic rural country lanes around the villages of Cross in Hand and Waldron in East Sussex. They say the course is undulating for the first half, and uphill for the second.

Next comes Bewl 15 on 5th July, a lovely pretty, gently undulating run around Bewl Water. The route is clockwise, and quite a lot of it is flat. It is largely wooded, with some field sections. There is a 3 mile section on country roads, this is to avoid the Nature Reserve and is the hilly part. Then back to the reservoir, for a further 2 miles, before going back up the trail to Wadhurst.

After that is the Phoenix 10K on 15th July, a very flat and fast run , producing fast times. From Hove Lawn’s café heading west to Carats café at 5K, then back to  the finish.

Finally, for this time, the last SGP race in July is the Bexhill 5K on the 29th, a Wednesday night,

which is a simple 2 X out and back along the seafront, 1.25K each way. Very flat, and well supported race.
