Fresh air, exercise, friends, beautiful scenery, 2 pubs…… Don’t miss it!
Meet at Steyning High Street car park, ready for 10:15 departure.
Route leaves Steyning with fairly steep climb up on to the Downs, giving fantastic views, joining South Downs way and after approx 5 miles, stopping at The Frankland Arms in Washington for a quick drink, before heading back on the lower path, (ie flat!) for 3.5 miles, past Wiston House and entering Steyning via Mouse Lane, where we can relax, eat and drink at The Star Inn, Steyning. Aim is to be in beer garden by 13:45. If you plan on eating, please let us know before Friday so we may keep the pub informed of numbers. Sample menu here
Liz and I will lead the walk, but please feel welcome to walk, run, cycle or just join us at the pub/s. (Cyclists note a number of stiles on our route.)
For those in Henfield who fancy more than 1 beer, the Compass bus may make this possible for you! http://www.compass-travel.co.uk/download/west-sussex-surrey-bus-services/100.pdf
Weather forecast is looking dry at the moment, however, if rain looks to spoil things we will review going ahead.
Do hope as many as possible, with your family / friends, will join us for a nice easy day.
See you there.
