Hedgehoppers 5 mile – Fun Run

This is a 5 mile course on undulating paths over the South Downs starting and finishing 1/2 a mile from Portslade Sports Centre.

Changing, showers and toilets are available at the Sports Centre. First Aid in attendance. Spot prizes.

Please only park in the lower car park at Portslade Aldridge Community Academy and allow a 5 minute walk from there to the Sports Centre where the flag will be. Where possible please car share or use public transport.

No parking available at the start / finish.

It’s then about a 10 minute walk/jog back up the road and over onto the Down for the start – be careful with traffic. So this is definitely one where it’s good to be on time.

There’s no mini-Joggers’ event for this one. The route is up toward Devils Dyke with a loop around the top – glorious views on a good day – and then around and down the same path back down – about 2 miles up approx before a level bit and a canter back down. It’s very definitely uphill and there’s a slightly cheeky uphill ‘bounce’ on the way down that that gets people every year!

Great opportunity to have some fun with hills!
