Wednesday Night Club Runs

Club night is Wednesday, meeting at the Leisure Centre at 7pm. After a group stretching and warm up session we usually set off running at about 7.15. However please check our Events calendar as the Pub Run schedule means that on these evenings during the summer months there will be no Leisure Centre run, replaced by a scenic run from one of the local pubs! This should be no barrier as all remain welcome, its only the venue that has changed!

On the first Wednesday of each month the Handicap is run, after which we adjourn to The Plough! The exception to this is the July and August period, when the Handicap is suspended while most people are taking holidays!

If you want to do your best to avoid injury we strongly recommend a pre-run warm up. There is useful information here in the henfield joggers stretching guide which was compiled for us by local professional coach Julie Craig.

We usually have at least two groups (one on the roads around the village, the other heading off cross-country, even in the winter darkness!) often more, depending on course, distance and speed. Our ethos is that running together is more enjoyable and helps people expand their belief in what they can do, so we always aim to match runners, especially new or aspiring members, to people of similar capability on the night so that no-one should ever feel that they are hanging outside what they can do.
