DESCRIPTION:Organised by fellow HJ Mark Friend-James rather than Hugh as this is HIS territory! The description below is from Mark himself\, and this has been both a brilliant run and a brilliant pub for the last few years! Dogs very welcome but please note the comments below\, especially about the ponies now on Cissbury. \n“The route I have designed is approx. 5 ½ miles in length. It starts in Findon Village and consists of a 4 ½ miles of trail/track with a final 1 mile road descent back into the village. To start we will run past the famous Findon stables & gallops (where Aldiniti was trained to win the 1981 Grand National – remember the film “Champions with John Hurt“) which is a steady climb before flattening out and joining the track to Cissbury (which is part of the Stinger Marathon and 3 Forts course). We are going to then run on a single track that loops around the back of Cissbury Ring before cutting right through its centre where we head for the trig point at the summit with two fantastic team photo opportunities. We then drop down a single track that takes us to the foot of Cissbury Ring\, run along the base before making a short climb to the top car park before dropping back down along the tarmac road that takes us past the green where the sheep fair is held and back to the pub for a bite to eat. \nApart from the road which is really perfect for running on\, the trail will have the usual trips hazards\, pot holes\, loose rocks\, flint\, roots and can be slippery in places. It is very dry at the moment but I always wear my trail shoes. \nIf bringing dogs please note some of the fields do have sheep\, cows and the horse paddocks can be easily accessed. Also there are now ponies roaming freely around Cissbury so PLEASE bring leads\, control your dogs\, and please pick up dog poop along the way. \nI hope the Joggers enjoy the course. It takes in some great views all the way (Chanctonbury\, Brighton & The Isle of Wight maybe if clear night and apart from a climb at the start and to the summit is one that will test with a smile on our faces.” \n \n  \nThey prepare the dining room which is next to the garden for the Joggers. When we return from the run we can go in there or sit in the garden if we wish. \nIf we can try and get the food ordered before we go it would be preferred\, as that way when we return between 8.15- 8.30 we can chill out before the food is brought to us. \nParking is limited at the pub to 10-12 cars but there is street and road parking close by. It is a search and find mission I am afraid. \nThere are dog water bowls in the garden also……..\nLooking forward to the run with you all\, Mark

Meet at the Leisure Centre at 7pm as usual and Lisa will guide everyone through a programme that changes each time to focus on different aspects of running\, but following the same format: \n\nMeet in the Reception at the Leisure Centre for a briefing\nLisa will lead a warmup session\nThen we head off as a group to undertake the evenings activities\nReturn to the Leisure Centre for a comprehensive warm-down and stretching session\n\nLisa is available for any individual questions and advice during this time. The whole session should last about an hour\, finishing around 8pm.

SUMMARY:Comedy Night Spring Social 16th April 2016
DESCRIPTION:“Saturday night out at Ropetackle with three top comics from the UK comedy circuit and beyond. Every month Barnstormers Comedy Club promises\, and delivers\, a great laugh-out-loud night out. \nUnbeatable sell-out Saturday night entertainment cabaret style and the perfect way to get together with your mates. Each month our compère introduces three top acts from the comedy circuit. A barnstorming night out!” \nAs last year was such a success I have organised tickets to the Barnstormers Comedy Night in Shoreham on April 16th 2016. Three acts of stand up comedy in one evening\, plenty to drink and great Henfield Jogger company\, what could possibly go wrong?\nThere is only a set amount of tickets available so get in quick! Its £12.50 per person for the comedy. I am still looking into possibly getting a minibus from PG/Henfield to Shoreham and back (like last time) so will keep you posted. If not\, I will organise as many lift shares as I can to ensure everyone can come and let their hair down. \nIf you would like to get a ticket\, HJ Members and families (18years plus) can either pay by BACS to the usual Henfield Jogger account with COMEDY and your surname plus how many tickets eg COMEDYKAELIN2\, or by cheque or cash. If you pay by BACS please let me know by email that you have done so. \nTickets are on sale now and will close on March 15th (or before if we run out of tickets) so don’t delay get your tickets today!

SUMMARY:Christmas Party 2015
DESCRIPTION:The arrangements for the 2015 Henfield Joggers Christmas Party have been finalised for Saturday the 12th of December 2015. \nWe will be going to Baloos on Wheatsheaf Road this year for a two course meal with a disco. We have exclusive use of the venue so will be able to do our awards etc after dinner and then dance the night away. There is a strict maximum of 60 tickets available to HJ members and their partners.  Although you will need to make your own way to the venue there will be transport back to Henfield Village centre and also Partridge green village centre available for the first 45 people that require it so don’t delay in buying your tickets and securing your place on the minibus.  This should be a fantastic evening and a highlight in our social calendar. \nThe cost for the night is £26pp. \nI will be unable to secure any tickets without payment. Payment can be made via BACS  (account number: 10733817 sort code: 53-50-39  accountname: Henfield Joggers) with your surname\, amount of tickets and xmas as the reference (eg KAELIN2XMAS)\, If you pay this way you must email me to say you have done so and to submit your menu choices. SUMMARY:Start Running/Return to Running Course
DESCRIPTION:Starting or Returning to Running?\n\nCome and join Henfield Joggers next ‘beginners /returners to running’ programme on Wednesday 30th September 2015\, 7pm at Henfield Leisure Centre\n\nThis is an 8 week walk/run programme led by Cathy Walker\, certified Run England ‘Leadership in Running Fitness’ coach\, building up to a 5k run\, and all levels are welcome\, with both on and off road running although at this time of year it will be 90% on the roads. The course costs £25 but includes 15 months membership to Henfield Joggers (valid until January 2017) which brings all the benefits of membership too since we are a friendly club for whom socialising is as important as the running! As an additional benefit you can acquire one of our lovely green running vests for a greatly reduced £10 on completion of your first ‘West Sussex Fun Run League’ event!\n\nFor more information just contact us at: beginners@henfieldjoggers.co.uk\, or turn up on the night\n\nIf you’re already running and just want some additional motivation\, advice\, or simply to run with like-minded people\, then come and meet us\, there’s no pressure to join immediately so come and check us out first\, new members are always very welcome. From April to the end of September we’re ‘out and about’ with various pub runs\, events etc\, so check our ‘find us’ page for details. The rest of the year you’ll find us most Wednesday evening at Henfield Leisure Centre for both on and off-road runs (yes\, we go off road even in the dark of winter!) but then\, we also have a WINTER pub run schedule too (we like pubs!) so check out where we are first!
